At layf, we offer returns in line with UK consumer law and the conditions outlined below. Please read this policy carefully before placing an order.
30-Day Return Window
Return requests must be initiated within 30 days of delivery.
To be eligible for a return, items must be:
- Unworn, unwashed, and unused
- In original condition with all tags attached
- Free from marks, stains, odours, pet hair, or signs of wear
- Returned in original packaging where reasonably possible
All returns are subject to inspection. Items that do not meet these conditions may be refused or refunded partially at our discretion.
Size & Fit Returns
We understand that fit can be personal.
Returns due to size or fit are accepted within 30 days, provided the item is unworn and in original condition with tags attached.
Please note: fit preference or styling expectations do not constitute a product fault. We recommend reviewing our size guide and fit notes before ordering.
Non-Returnable Items
The following items are not eligible for return unless faulty:
- Items marked as Final Sale or Non-Returnable
- Gift cards
- Personalised or custom-made items
- Hygiene-sensitive items once opened or worn (including underwear, lingerie, swimwear, and pierced jewellery)
- Promotional or limited-release items where stated
How to Initiate a Return
All returns must be authorised before being sent back.
To request a return, please contact us via our contact form or email with:
- Your order number
- The item(s) you wish to return
- The reason for return
Unauthorised returns may be rejected.
Return Shipping
Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless:
- The item is faulty or defective
- The wrong item was sent
- The item arrived damaged
We recommend using a tracked service, as we are not responsible for items lost in transit.
Exchanges
Exchanges are subject to stock availability.
To secure availability, we recommend placing a new order for your desired item and returning the original item separately for a refund.
If you prefer to wait for an exchange, please contact us and we'll do our best to accommodate your request, subject to stock availability.
Refunds
Refunds are processed within 5–7 business days after the returned item has been received and inspected.
Refunds are issued to the original payment method only.
Original shipping charges are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error or a faulty item.
If free shipping was applied and part of the order is returned, we reserve the right to deduct the original shipping cost if the remaining order value falls below the free shipping threshold.
Partial Refunds
We reserve the right to issue partial refunds where items:
- Show signs of wear or use
- Are returned without original tags or packaging
- Are returned outside the return window
- Are damaged due to customer handling
Faulty, Incorrect, or Damaged Items
If you receive a faulty, incorrect, or damaged item, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with:
- Your order number
- Clear photos showing the issue
Where confirmed, we will offer a replacement or full refund, including return shipping costs.
Gift Returns
If you received an item as a gift and would like to return it, please contact us. We can offer:
- An exchange for a different size or colour (subject to availability)
- A gift card for the value of the item
- A refund to the original purchaser (with their consent)
UK Consumer Rights
This policy does not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Final Authority
All returns are subject to inspection.
We reserve the right to refuse returns that do not meet our policy requirements or show signs of misuse.
